PDN-Boston (Professional Development & Networking Group) presents:

"The ABCs of Professional Networking"

Have you wondered how to start a conversation in the elevator or at the airport with another professional you don't know, and actually exchange business cards without being too pushy? How about taking the next step to build and maintain those relationships later on so that it is mutually beneficial?

Looking for answers for these questions? Then, come and listen to Alan Cote, a Professional Speaker, Coach, and Trainer with Globalvision, who helps individuals and organizations with communication skills. Alan, who hosted Toastmasters Monthly Television Show before, has taught more than 350 full day seminars at international companies in three countries. Apart from these, Alan offers training in Project Management, Time Management, Business Writing, Delegation, Communication, Presentation Skills, Table Etiquette, and Dressing for Success. He coaches individuals to recognize their values, traits and ideals of success.

This session will help you organize your TOOLBOX to Maximize Networking Assets. Learn tips used by the professionals to help you in three areas:
1) Improving One-to-One Communication
2) Establishing Your Network
3) Leveraging the Network

This Toolbox Tool Session will be an overview of material professionals study and enhance for creating an Outstanding Asset in Business and Professional life. Alan will give you bullet-point suggestions for each of the three areas, and illustrations to help you understand. Be prepared! It will be a fast paced, energetic and information packed session! But mostly, be prepared to HAVE FUN DOING IT!

PDN-Boston (Professional Development and Networking Group in Boston)

PDN-Boston, an initiative of GBNC (Greater Boston Nepali Community), was launched in late 2003 to bring together extremely diverse group of Nepali professionals, entrepreneurs and students, to different forums, to:
1. Form a network of Nepali Professionals, of all levels of experiences, and facilitate discussions on various topics.
2. Create career and business opportunities through membership and participation.
3. Create mentoring opportunities for Nepali students, for making transition into "real" world.

4.Capitalize on growing Nepali social networks to expand them into future professional network.

DIRECTIONS TO STUDENT CURRY CENTER AT NORTHEASTERN
UNIVERSITY:

It is difficult to find parking. Therefore, we recommend you to take public transportation to Northeastern.

VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
From Green Line (E):
Northeastern is accessible by subway via the Green Line of the MBTA. From downtown Boston, take an "E" train outbound to the Northeastern stop, the first
stop above ground. Get off at Northeastern stop on Huntington Avenue. On your left (if you are taking outbound train), you will see Ell Hall (on your left) Richards Hall (on your right). Keep on walking until you find Student Curry Center.

From Orange Line:
The campus can also be reached from downtown via the Orange Line by taking any train going outbound to Forest Hills and getting off at Ruggles Station.
Commuter rail lines connect with the Orange Line at Back Bay Station and North Station.

Get off at Ruggles and walk towards Northeastern (Forsyth Street). On your left you will see Eagan Research Center, a glass building. Take first left from Forsyth Street towards Northeastern's Snell Library. Student Curry Center is located next to the Snell Library.

Directions for driving:
From the north (via Route I-93 or Route 1):
Take the Storrow Drive exit, and proceed to the Fenway exit. Follow signs for Boylston Street inbound, and bear right onto Westland Avenue. Turn right onto
Massachusetts Avenue, proceed to the third traffic light, and turn right onto Columbus Avenue. The Renaissance Parking Garage is at 835 Columbus Ave.

From the west (via Route 90, Massachusetts Turnpike) :
Take Exit 22 (Copley Square), and bear right. Proceed to the first traffic light, and turn right onto Dartmouth Street. Take the next right onto Columbus Avenue. The Renaissance Parking Garage is at 835 Columbus Ave.

From the west (via Route 9):

Proceed east on Route 9; it will become Huntington Avenue. Turn right onto Ruggles Street. At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto Tremont Street. At the
second set of lights, turn left onto Melnea Cass Boulevard, and then turn left onto Columbus Avenue. The Renaissance Parking Garage is at 835 Columbus Ave.

From the south (via Route 3, Southeast Expressway):
Take Exit 18 (Massachusetts Avenue), and proceed onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. Continue for approximately two miles, and turn left onto Columbus Avenue. The Renaissance Parking Garage is at 835 Columbus Ave.

PARKING AROUND NORTHEASTERN:
The main entrance to the Student Curry Center is from 360 Huntington Avenue. It is very difficult to find parking around Northeastern. You can pay $12 per hour
at Northeastern parking. You can also find free or metered parking on Huntington Avenue or on streets around Huntington Avenue.
